In 2025 PublishU have introduced a fast-track 50-day publishing service available on request for authors who have a particular reason for seeing their book published even more swiftly.
Process
The 'Publishing My Book' Pathway provides a 12-step streamlined approach (illustrated by the infographic below) from submission of your manuscript to global publication.
- Manuscript Submission: As Author, you submit your manuscript to PublishU using the required format.
- Title & Cover Advisory: Your title, subtitle, and back cover text will be reviewed and ready for cover design.
- Visual Cover Design: Based on your author brief, two possible creative directions will be proposed. You will be asked to give your feedback as an author before the selected option is developed.
- Cover Sign-Off: As the Author, you sign off on the cover design, which is ready for print.
- Copy Edit: An edit of the entire manuscript, either a) Standard Service: a light copy edit making minor wording and grammatical changes without author review, or b) Premium Service: a development, grammatical and factual in-depth copy edit.
- Proofread: A complete professional proofreader of the spelling and grammar of the final manuscript of the book. NB, the author, remains responsible for the final proofing of the book.
- Manuscript Sign-Off: As the Author, you sign off on the final book manuscript, which is ready for typesetting.
- Typesetting: The final manuscript is typeset in preparation for publication in Kindle, paperback and hardback (optional) formats.
- Audiobook Creation (optional): Preparation of an audiobook using new technology.
- Publication Sign-off: As an Author, you sign off the final typeset of the book for global publication.
- Technical Cover Adjustment: The book cover will be prepared for the final width of the spine for the different book formats.
- Global Publication: The book formats are uploaded to Amazon, allocated an ISBN and published on or before the Global Publication Date (GPD).
Standard Book
The standard-size book, as found on any bookshelf (dimensions 128.4x198.4mm) In addition to paperback format, your book will be produced on Kindle for electronic sales and distribution.

Pocket Book
An innovative pocketbook size (dimensions 101.6x152.4 mm) is perfect for a pocket or bag. In addition to the paperback format, your book will be produced in Kindle format for electronic sales and distribution. It is suitable for manuscripts of approximately 10,000 words.

All prices are subject to 20% VAT.
NB Acceptance of an author’s work for publication is not automatic. Our publishing panel will review the entire manuscript. The author will receive a full refund of any monies paid if declined.
Marketing
PublishU will market your book and support your marketing through the following channels and assets:
- Webpage dedicated to you and your book.
- YouTube interview.
- Podcast on Apple and Spotify.
- Instagram feed and stories.
- Facebook.
- WhatsApp communities.
- Graphics of 3D cover and flat cover.
- Platform magazine splash and Q&A article (optional).
- Study Guide (optional).
- Invitations for launch event (optional).
- Membership of the ‘Global Authors Club’ to continue to support you in the marketing of your book.
Royalties
Retail sales of your book attract author royalties of approximately 35-40% of the cover price. This varies depending on your book's format, number of words, colour and complexity (i.e., images, illustrations or infographics). PublishU charges a 5.8% gross (on price of book) or 15% net (on author royalties) agency fee on royalties, this is taken prior to your 35-40%. Delivery is approximately 24-48 hours.
Wholesale ‘author copies’ of your book are available at approximately 40% of the cover price on a standard paperback. You can make a margin of roughly 60% on your direct sales. This varies according to your book's format, number of words, colour and complexity (i.e., images, illustrations or infographics). PublishU charges a 15% agency fee on author copy purchases. These can be ordered via PublishU on your book's publication day and, after that, once a month. Delivery is approximately 14 days.
Statements and Payments
Sales and Royalty Statements are provided yearly at the end of January and July, and payments are made within 30 days. The first time a payment is due, you will be asked for your bank details so that payment can be made directly into your chosen bank account.
